Recreate the famous Olive Garden Stuffed Mushrooms at home. This recipe delivers the savory, cheesy, herbed filling baked inside tender mushroom caps, just like you remember from the restaurant.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound white button mushrooms
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for topping)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • (Optional: 2 ounces finely chopped canned clams, drained)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. Gently wipe the mushroom caps clean. Carefully snap off the stems. Finely chop the stems.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined. If using clams, stir them in now.
  4. Finely chop the reserved mushroom stems and mix them into the cheese filling.
  5. Spoon the filling generously into each mushroom cap, mounding it slightly.
  6. Place the filled mushrooms on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle a small amount of extra breadcrumbs over the top of each stuffed mushroom.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the filling is golden brown and the mushrooms are tender.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy your taste of Olive Garden!

Notes

  • Wipe mushrooms clean instead of washing; excess water prevents good browning.
  • Richard insists the clams make the authentic difference, but omitting them still yields a delicious result.
  • You can prepare the filled mushrooms ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours before baking.
