Create a decadent, no-bake chocolate lasagna dessert. This layered treat is rich, creamy, and requires simple chilling time to set perfectly. It brings back wonderful memories with every bite.
Mix chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish. Chill for 15 minutes.
In a bowl, beat the first 8 ounces of cream cheese with 1 cup powdered sugar until smooth. Gently fold in half of the thawed whipped topping. Spread this mixture over the chilled crust.
Whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix with cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes. Spread this pudding layer evenly over the cream cheese layer.
In a separate bowl, beat the remaining 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with the remaining 1 cup of powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the remaining half of the thawed whipped topping. Carefully spread this layer over the pudding.
Cover the dish. Chill for at least 4 hours, or until fully set.
Before serving, sprinkle the top evenly with chocolate chips. Cut into squares and serve cold.
Notes
Chilling time is important for clean slices. Plan for at least four hours of setting time.
You can use Oreo cookie crumbs instead of chocolate wafers for the crust.
Richard suggests letting it sit at room temperature for five minutes before slicing for the best texture.
