Make a refreshing iced chai latte featuring the sweet and tart flavor of raspberry paired with smooth vanilla notes over spicy black tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 chai tea bag or 2 tsp loose leaf chai
  • 4 oz boiling water
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tbsp raspberry syrup (see notes for homemade)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Steep the chai tea bag or loose leaf tea in 4 oz of boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea. Let the brewed chai cool slightly.
  2. In a shaker or tall glass, combine the cooled chai tea, milk, raspberry syrup, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add the ice cubes to the glass or shaker.
  4. If using a shaker, seal it and shake vigorously until the mixture is well chilled and slightly frothy. If using a glass, stir well to combine and chill.
  5. Pour the mixture into your serving glass if you used a shaker.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To make homemade raspberry syrup: Combine 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Simmer until the berries break down, about 10 minutes. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds. Cool before using.
  • Adjust the amount of raspberry syrup and vanilla to match your preferred sweetness level.
  • For a stronger chai flavor, use 6 oz of brewed chai concentrate instead of brewing a single bag.
