Ingredients
Scale
1 can (5 ounces) tuna in water, drained
2 tablespoons mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for extra protein)
1 stalk celery, finely chopped
1 tablespoon red onion, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt
1 large whole wheat tortilla or wrap
1 slice cheddar or Swiss cheese
1 teaspoon butter or cooking spray
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix the drained tuna, mayonnaise (or yogurt), celery, red onion, pepper, and salt. This is your high-protein tuna salad.
Place the cheese slice directly onto one half of the tortilla.
Spoon the tuna salad mixture over the cheese.
Fold the empty half of the tortilla over the filling to create a half-moon shape.
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the butter or cooking spray.
Carefully place the folded wrap into the hot skillet.
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, pressing down gently with a spatula, until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a tangier flavor, add a teaspoon of pickle relish to the tuna salad.
If you prefer, you can use low-fat mayonnaise.
This wrap reheats well in a toaster oven for a future quick meal.
