- 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
- 4 slices pepperoni
- 2 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon pizza sauce
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 4 rectangles. Press the perforations to seal them into one large rectangle.
- Cut the dough into 4 equal squares.
- On one half of each square, place 1 slice of pepperoni, 1/2 slice of mozzarella cheese, and 1/2 teaspoon of pizza sauce.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges firmly to seal.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes from the dough pockets. Gently re-press the edges to ensure they are sealed.
- Place the heart-shaped pockets on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the pockets with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can use your favorite pizza toppings like cooked sausage, mushrooms, or peppers.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle some Italian seasoning on top before baking.
- Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
