This is our simple, family-friendly recipe for a comforting Dorito casserole, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10 ounce) bag Nacho Cheese Doritos, lightly crushed
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef and onion mixture with the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, and taco seasoning. Mix well.
  4. Stir in the one cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Fold in about two-thirds of the lightly crushed Doritos into the meat mixture. Do not overmix; you want some texture remaining.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining one-third of the crushed Doritos over the top of the casserole.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly throughout.
  9. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the Monterey Jack cheese over the top. Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving so the cheese melts slightly.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, try using Cool Ranch Doritos instead of Nacho Cheese for a tangier taste.
  • If you want to keep the topping crunchier, add the final layer of chips only during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  • Serve this easy Dorito casserole with a side of sour cream or salsa for extra flavor.
