This Creamy Ranch Chicken Skillet brings comforting flavor to your table fast. We focused on the perfect cream and seasoning ratio so the ranch taste is just right—not too strong, just wonderfully savory. It’s a simple, warm dish ready when you are.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Add onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Whisk in the dry ranch seasoning mix until fully dissolved. Reduce heat to medium-low.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream. Let the sauce warm through, stirring occasionally, but do not boil.
  7. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  8. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Stir gently to coat the chicken in the creamy sauce.
  9. Simmer for 2 minutes until the chicken is heated through.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Notes

  • For a lighter sauce, you can substitute half the heavy cream with milk, though the texture will be thinner.
  • You control the seasoning strength; if you prefer a milder ranch flavor, use slightly less than the full packet of dry mix.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed broccoli or green beans for added color and nutrients.
