Make a quick, zesty horseradish sauce perfect for prime rib, roast beef, or steak.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup prepared horseradish, drained
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the sour cream and heavy cream in a medium bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Add the drained prepared horseradish, white vinegar, and Dijon mustard to the cream mixture.
  3. Stir well to incorporate all ingredients.
  4. Season with salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.

Notes

  • Drain the liquid from the prepared horseradish well; excess liquid makes the sauce thin.
  • For a sharper flavor, use freshly grated horseradish instead of prepared.
  • If you prefer a thinner sauce, add a teaspoon of milk or water until you reach your desired consistency.
