Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1/2 cup water
8 large flour tortillas (burrito size)
4 small flour tortillas (taco size)
1 cup nacho cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade)
4 tostada shells (crispy corn shells)
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomato
1/2 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in the taco seasoning and water according to package directions. Simmer until the liquid reduces, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
Warm the nacho cheese sauce slightly so it is easily spreadable.
Place one large tortilla on a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of nacho cheese sauce over the center, leaving a 2-inch border.
Layer the following ingredients over the cheese: one-quarter of the seasoned ground beef, one crispy tostada shell, one-quarter of the lettuce, one-quarter of the tomato, one-quarter of the shredded cheese, and one tablespoon of sour cream.
Place one small tortilla directly over the toppings.
Fold the edges of the large tortilla up and over the small tortilla, overlapping them to create a hexagonal shape. Press firmly to seal the edges.
Heat a dry, large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the assembled wrap seam-side down on the hot surface.
Grill for 2 to 3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and sealed. Flip carefully and grill the other side for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make three more wraps.
Notes
For the best flavor match, use a store-bought nacho cheese sauce that resembles the fast-food version.
If you prefer a vegetarian option, substitute the ground beef with black beans seasoned with taco spices.
You can substitute sour cream with plain Greek yogurt for a slightly tangier, lower-fat option.
