Make a homemade sauce that tastes like the classic spread used on popular fast-food burgers. This mayonnaise-based topping is quick to mix and perfect for your next burger night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients into a medium bowl.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and uniform in color.
  3. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed, adding a pinch more sugar or vinegar for balance.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.
  5. Serve cold on your favorite burgers or use as a dipping sauce for fries.

Notes

  • For a tangier flavor, substitute regular pickle relish with finely chopped dill pickles.
  • If you do not have onion or garlic powder, you can use 1/2 teaspoon of dried minced onion or garlic, but the texture will change slightly.
  • This sauce keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
