Make a restaurant-style apple cider vinaigrette at home that perfectly balances sweet and tangy flavors. This easy recipe yields a smooth, emulsified dressing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, onion powder, ground ginger, salt, and pepper in a small bowl or jar.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until the mustard is fully incorporated.
  3. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while continuously whisking vigorously to emulsify the dressing. Alternatively, place all ingredients in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake well until creamy.
  4. Taste the dressing and adjust seasoning if needed. Add more maple syrup for sweetness or vinegar for tang.
  5. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • For a thicker dressing, use slightly less olive oil or add 1/2 teaspoon of mayonnaise before emulsifying.
  • If you do not have maple syrup, you can substitute it with honey or an equal amount of granulated sugar dissolved in a tablespoon of warm water.
  • This dressing works well as a marinade for chicken or pork before grilling.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving if it has solidified.
