You asked for the famous sweet and creamy Grape Salad from Chicken Salad Chick, and we have captured that flavor for you! This easy copycat recipe combines juicy grapes, a rich cream cheese dressing, and a crunchy pecan topping. It is a perfect side dish for potlucks or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds seedless grapes (a mix of red and green works best)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry your grapes. Place the dried grapes in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix these ingredients until the dressing is completely smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the creamy dressing over the grapes. Gently fold the dressing into the grapes until all the grapes are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the grape mixture into a serving dish.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans and brown sugar. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the dressed grapes.
  7. Cover the dish and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.

Notes

  • For the best texture, make sure your grapes are completely dry before mixing them with the dressing. Watery grapes will thin out the creamy coating.
  • You can prepare the grape mixture and the topping separately one day ahead. Assemble and top just before serving for maximum crunch.
  • If you want a lighter version, substitute half of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
