Ingredients
Scale
1 pound pizza dough
1/2 cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Toppings of your choice (e.g., pepperoni, mushrooms, onions)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Cornmeal or flour for dusting
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C). Place your cast iron skillet in the oven while it preheats.
Lightly dust a clean surface with cornmeal or flour. Stretch or roll out your pizza dough to fit the size of your cast iron skillet.
Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil into the skillet and swirl to coat the bottom.
Place the pizza dough into the hot skillet.
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and then the Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
Add your desired toppings.
Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the edges of the crust.
Carefully place the skillet back into the preheated oven.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Let the pizza cool in the skillet for a few minutes before sliding it onto a cutting board.
Slice and serve your delicious homemade pizza.
