Experience the delightful fusion of a classic Italian dessert with the beloved flavors of a caramel macchiato. This easy-to-make Tiramisu recipe brings together rich coffee, creamy mascarpone, and a hint of caramel for a truly decadent treat that will transport you to a cozy café.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12-16 ladyfingers
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee, coffee liqueur (if using), granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are moist but not soggy. Arrange a single layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat the softened mascarpone cheese with the heavy cream until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gradually add the powdered sugar and 1/4 cup of caramel sauce, mixing until just combined and no lumps remain. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfinger layer.
  6. Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  7. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
  8. Before serving, dust the top generously with cocoa powder and drizzle with additional caramel sauce.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso.
  • If you don’t have coffee liqueur, you can substitute with rum or omit it entirely.
  • Ensure your mascarpone cheese is at room temperature for a smoother filling.
  • Chill the tiramisu for at least 4 hours for the best texture and flavor.
