Achieve a perfectly crisp, golden Parmesan crust on your salmon without overcooking the fish inside. This recipe keeps your salmon tender and flaky while delivering that satisfying crunch you crave.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Salmon fillets (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets very dry using paper towels. This step helps the crust adhere and crisp up.
  3. Brush the tops and sides of the salmon fillets lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the grated Parmesan cheese, dried dill, and garlic powder.
  5. Press the Parmesan mixture firmly onto the top surface of each salmon fillet to create a thick crust.
  6. Place the crusted salmon on the prepared baking sheet. Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice over each fillet.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness, until the salmon is cooked through and the topping is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra crispy top, you can briefly place the salmon under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • Use fresh lemon zest mixed with the Parmesan for a brighter flavor.
  • Ensure you use finely grated, dry Parmesan cheese for the best crust texture.
