These wings are packed with savory garlic and salty Parmesan flavor. You will love recreating this restaurant favorite right in your own oven.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (not baking soda)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with a wire rack set inside it. This setup helps the air circulate for maximum crispness.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with baking powder, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated. The baking powder is the secret to a dry, crispy skin.
  3. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Do not let them touch.
  4. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through the cooking time. The wings should look golden brown and very crisp.
  5. While the wings bake, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook gently for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown. Remove from heat.
  6. Once the wings are cooked, transfer them immediately to a large, clean bowl.
  7. Pour the melted garlic butter over the hot wings. Toss gently to coat every piece.
  8. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley over the sauced wings. Toss again briefly until the cheese adheres.
  9. Serve your crispy Baked Garlic Parmesan Wings right away.

Notes

  • Using a wire rack positioned over a baking sheet is crucial for achieving non-fried crispiness.
  • Make sure your wings are completely dry before tossing them with the baking powder mixture. Pat them well with paper towels.
  • If you prefer a stronger Parmesan flavor, add a little extra cheese just before serving.
