  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, rice vinegar, cornstarch, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
  2. Pour the sauce mixture into a small saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly.
  4. Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove from heat immediately.
  6. Use immediately over your cooked stir-fry ingredients.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes with the other seasonings.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, slightly increase the cornstarch, adding it in small increments.
  • This sauce stores well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Taste before using; adjust sweetness or saltiness to your preference.
