You can make restaurant-style potato wedges right in your air fryer. This recipe delivers wedges that are perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully fluffy inside. It is a quick and healthy alternative to deep-fried versions, using simple pantry staples for great flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large Russet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the potatoes well. Cut each potato lengthwise into 8 even wedges.
  2. For extra crispness, soak the cut wedges in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain the water completely and pat the wedges very dry with paper towels. This step is key for crispy air fryer potato wedges.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the dry potato wedges with olive oil until lightly coated.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper to create your seasoning blend.
  5. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the oiled wedges and toss again until every wedge is evenly coated.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Place the seasoned wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to achieve the best crisping.
  8. Air fry for 18 to 22 minutes, shaking the basket vigorously halfway through the cooking time.
  9. Check for doneness; the wedges should be golden brown and crunchy. Serve immediately as your easy air fryer side dish.

Notes

  • If you prefer a cheesy flavor, toss the cooked wedges with 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese immediately after removing them from the air fryer.
  • For a spicy kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to your dry seasoning mix.
  • If you are using smaller potatoes, reduce the cook time by 2-3 minutes.
