Create perfectly golden Air Fryer French Toast Sticks that achieve a wonderfully crispy exterior while keeping the inside soft and fluffy. Say goodbye to soggy toast and hello to a quick, comforting breakfast memory.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices thick bread (Brioche or Texas toast recommended)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Cooking spray or light oil

Instructions

  1. Cut each bread slice lengthwise into three sticks.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Quickly dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, turning to coat both sides. Do not let the bread soak.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  6. Arrange the coated bread sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary.
  7. Lightly spray the tops of the sticks with cooking spray.
  8. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly dust the coated sticks with a tiny bit of flour before dipping them in the egg mixture.
  • Use thick bread; thin bread tends to become too dry in the air fryer.
  • The key to avoiding sogginess is dipping quickly; the bread should be coated, not saturated.
