Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to 1/4 inch thickness
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Pound the chicken breasts to an even 1/4 inch thickness to create cutlets.
Set up a standard breading station with three shallow dishes. Place flour in the first dish.
In the second dish, whisk together the egg and milk.
In the third dish, combine the Panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Dredge each chicken cutlet first in the flour, shaking off excess.
Dip the floured cutlet into the egg mixture, letting excess drip off.
Press the cutlet firmly into the Panko-Parmesan mixture, coating both sides completely.
Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Place the breaded cutlets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary. Do not overcrowd the basket.
Lightly spray the tops of the cutlets with cooking spray.
Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit) and the coating is golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, chill the breaded cutlets in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before air frying.
Use Panko breadcrumbs; they provide a superior crunch compared to regular breadcrumbs in the air fryer.
If you do not have Panko, you can substitute with regular breadcrumbs, but the texture will be less crisp.
