Make crispy, spicy, and tangy Buffalo shrimp quickly in your air fryer without deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo wing sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve crispiness.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Toss the dry shrimp in the flour mixture until lightly coated. Shake off any excess flour.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the coated shrimp in a single layer in the basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the shrimp halfway through the cooking time, until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. While the shrimp cooks, whisk together the Buffalo sauce and melted butter in a small bowl.
  8. Once the shrimp is cooked, transfer it immediately to a clean bowl. Pour the Buffalo sauce mixture over the hot shrimp and toss gently to coat evenly.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the coated shrimp with cooking spray before placing them in the air fryer.
  • Serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
  • Do not thaw shrimp completely before coating; slightly frozen shrimp coat better.
