Ingredients
Scale
4 cups Saltine Crackers
1 cup Vegetable Oil
1 packet (about 1 oz) Ranch Seasoning Mix
1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F.
In a large bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, ranch seasoning mix, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. This is your flavor bath.
Add the saltine crackers to the bowl. Gently toss them until every cracker is coated with the oil and spice mixture. Take your time here; you want full coverage.
Spread the coated crackers in a single layer on one or two large baking sheets. Do not overlap them.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the sheets from the oven and gently stir the crackers.
Return the crackers to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheets. They will crisp up as they cool.
Store your finished fire crackers in an airtight container.
Notes
You can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on how much heat you enjoy.
If you prefer a less intense flavor, use half the amount of ranch seasoning mix.
For different flavor profiles, try adding a dash of dried dill or celery salt to the spice mix.
